Viking/Celtic
Viking beads and jewelry are well represented in finds throughout Scandinavia and more recently, in the excavations at Gotland Sweden and York England. Viking beads and jewelry were both Viking made and captured or traded as Vikings ranged widely and often demanded beads as tribute to avoid a raid. Glass, stone, amber, shell, gold, bronze and silver are among the materials used in Viking beads and jewelry. Vikings were very meticulous about personal appearance and wore jewelry adorned with beads.
