This is a Gypsy woman's finger ring dating to about 1800-50. It is size 8 1/4 and with a single oval blue imitation gem stone.
The band and mounts are a silver colored alloy and may have been plated originally.
Condition is as shown. Gypsies migrated from the Middle East fleeing the Ottoman Turks and settled largely in southeast Europe.
They were mistrusted and isolated so their cultures and blood lines were largely self contained.
Their costume including jewelry are very distinctive and identifiable.
