This is an ancient Viking Bead from the York(Jorvik) UK excavations. Remnants of Viking Glass furnaces in this region indicate that is area was a production center for glass beads and jewelry.

This one measures .49" (12.5mm) in diameter with a 4mm opening adorned with sterling silver grommets. Comes gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity and history. Makes a fine gift.
