ANCIENT 1200 YEAR OLD VIKING KNIFE ARTIFACT
$55.00
This is a Viking knife found in York England which comprised over half
of England and was conquered by and inhabited by Vikings from 866-1067
AD. It is 5.19" (131.8mm), including the tang, but could easily slit a
throat. It is accompanied by a Swedish language report showing a
similar example. An important distinguishing feature of these early
knives is that they were made without guards or pommels. For that
reason, the base of the blade (where it meets the tang) is forged to a
tapered transition. Virtually all other old knife blades will have a
square shoulder to accommodate the guard. Condition is as shown.
